The only flaw I found with the book is that it couldn’t possibly hold as much information as I wanted. Through the Prophet Joseph Smith was revealed a religion for the Space Age, for the cosmos, for the whole universe p.
Meant to faith promote rather than inform. It’s not a very long book, so it doesn’t cover a lot, but there were some insights that I was grateful for. Definitely not a comprehensive history of JS. I listened to the audio book, and the talks are original. The book is a tribute as well as an attempt to profile the personality of Joseph Smith as a religious leader. Return to Book Page.

Excellent history on Joseph Smith. This book is much more comprehensive in helping to paint a tge chronological picture of the other people and places and prophett going on that help me to understand even better who he was. As a seer, he knew things trumaan the past that are not part of our own scripture, but which he spoke of in discourse p. Then had adds, ‘yet nothing consumed,’ perhaps indicating that he expected to be.
Grant, his maternal grandfather, Madsen was reared with a strong foundation of faith. Maybe not as technical or in depth as could be, but Truman Madsen excells because you can sense the love he has for the prophet and feel that he wants to share and instill the same for the prophet in the listener.
The eight lectures can be read fairly quickly, but pondering and really understanding the depths of what is being communicated in them takes a lot more reflection. So much information I plan on going back and listening to certain sections again. This is a great book given to me by a wonderful friend for my birthday. Take section 93 of the Doctrine and Covenants – I leave out many other sections of which the same could be said.
